Josh Feshbach, a senior guard on Port Washington’s Schreiber High School basketball team announced that he has decided to attend the Ivy League’s Brown University as a student athlete and play basketball there this coming fall.

Josh is one of two athletes accepted into Brown’s freshman recruiting class, joining 6’9” center Cedric Kuakemensah.

Josh Feshbach, a senior guard on Port Washington’s Schreiber High School basketball team, has announced that he will be playing basketball at Brown University this coming fall.

Associate head coach T.J. Sorrentine was excited to hear that Josh decided on Brown. “We saw Josh play for Dan Gimpel’s Rising Stars team at the nationals over the summer and loved his leadership on the floor. He is a hard-nosed point guard that always did what it took to help his team win. Josh’s abilities at the point guard position will be a great asset to our program.”

Rising Stars coach Dan Gimpel agreed. “Josh is a winner and helps others to be the same. He has been a part of our program since 5th grade and has worked hard and improved every year. Josh makes people better around him and outworks his opponents. Hard work does pay off! That’s a characteristic that will help him excel in everything he does.”

Josh was an all-conference selection the past three years and was selected as scholar athlete of his conference. Josh is also in charge of a school-wide book drive through Schreiber’s English Honor Society. The proceeds will benefit Forestdale – a nonprofit child welfare organization that serves families in Queens. The results are clear when senior year arrives and a dream to attend a top ranked college and play Division 1 basketball becomes a reality.

Next fall begins a new chapter in Josh’s life. It’s one that he knows a little bit about because he helped write it.
