Teams

AAU Boys Basketball National Tournament
Memphis, TN - June 29 - July 6, 2008

Rising Stars has been providing teams with a opportunity to compete nationally for over twenty years. Rising Stars is a charter member of the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU), Basketball Congress of America (BCI), and the Youth Basketball Organization of America (YBOA).

National Program Director Dan Gimpel oversees the process and has been doing so for over 10 years. Dan has been a product of the program as a player and now directs every aspect of team activity for the organization.

Rising Stars sees competition as a way to apply the skills developed in its instructional camps and clinics. Competition begins following the K-4 instructional clinic and is available throughout high school. During this time Rising Stars ultimate goal is to provide kids enrolled in the program with continuity. Teamwork, sportsmanship, and the benefits of hard work, are recognized and rewarded with the knowledge that players remain with the teams they began with. Grade point average and performance in school, the role they play in the community, and all aspects of life off the court are equally important to the skills demonstrated on the court.

Rising Stars goal is to keep the players they begin with, not replace them throughout the years. That is one of the most important aspects that makes Rising Stars different. Another is the quality of staff. Every one of our coaches is a teaching professional, has played at the college level, and has coached at the high school level or higher.

Through the AAU Rising Stars provides all players with the opportunity of college exposure through tournaments and leagues throughout the spring and summer. Rising Stars has a long list of relationships with divisions 1,2, 3 colleges. Over the past 2 years over 20 kids have gone to play at the college level.

Rising Stars Day Camps are considered to be among the finest available anywhere in the world.

Each camp strictly limits its enrollment to fewer than 75 boys and girls with a 5:1 coach to player ratio assuring each child receives the individual attention they need to improve. All games and instructional sessions are conducted indoors and on regulation courts. A special bonus is having all games officiated by three professional referees from the Rising Stars officials school.

Every area needed for skills improvement is presented in a matter that makes it fun for a child to learn. At a Rising Stars camp learning is also complemented through playing in controlled scrimmages which gives campers a great opportunity to apply what they have learned in game situations. Training

Training
AAU Boys Basketball National Tournament
Memphis, TN - June 29 - July 6, 2008

Rising Stars offers a variety of instructional and training programs throughout the year for both teams and individuals.

Training Programs include private ( 1: 1), semi-private (2 to 3 people), group (4 or more), and teams. These programs are designed to help individuals, and or teams, develop specific fundamental skills and show them how to apply them in game situations. These skills will provide that extra advantage needed to stand out from the rest of the crowd.

Programs are available for boys and girls from 3rd grade to the collegiate level. These programs are customized to the individual.

They combine travel team competition with personal evaluations and analysis of game play throughout the year.

All Rising Stars instructors and trainers have either played or coached at the college level and higher.

All instructors and trainers are certified physical educators with a specialization in basketball.

All instructors receive additional preparation and training by master clinicians with over 30 years of player development experience at the professional level.

The Rising Stars program has been proven to work for the past 25 years. Each year Rising Stars players go on to excel at the high school level, and play at the collegiate level and higher, with some who have go on to the NBA and overseas.

Classes are held at the Buckley School on Long Island, or can be arranged at sites convenient to you.

The heart of individual instruction is the individual.

The most important issue is your child's complete satisfaction with our program.

We are 100% committed to that satisfaction and we stand by the Rising Stars guarantee with 100% confidence.

If you are not completely satisfied with your lesson and do not feel that what we offer is the best program you have seen, your lesson is free.
